Getting season 4 of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is one reason why.
Huge U.N.C.L.E. fan, so is Lauren Weinstein, frequent guest commentator on C2C.
Weinstein recently sent me an email about the 7 men who supposedly control the internet.
I sent him one back saying " I see T.H.R.U.S.H. Central finally got off the dime and did something successful for a change. "
To which he replied :
" Yeah, T.H.R.U.S.H., SPECTRE, Galaxy or Kaos would probably do a better job at it than what we have now. "
Which led to our discussion of our both being fans of U.N.C.L.E.
The late David McDaniel got Sam Rolfe and Norman Felton to make ME the head of the Las Vegas Satrap of T.H.R.U.S.H. when I lived there. I used to have a certificate of it but it sadly burned up in a fire in 1977. I miss Ted Johnstone/David McDaniel a lot. He was a true friend.

I like to say " what happens in Vegas, is T.H.R.U.S.H.'s fault.

One of the projects I want to do this year is make a full T.H.R.U.S.H. uniform.
I wanted to wear it one day to Conspiracy Con but the guy who ran that had his funding pulled.
The one thing I would love to do is have someone make me a T.H.R.U.S.H. leather motorcycle jacket as seen in an episode with Jack Palance and get the U.N. style helmet made as well.

When I get one made up, I'll wear it in a video. A toy T.H.R.U.S.H. rifle in the original Ideal Toy packaging now costs more than a $1000. When I was young a new one cost $10. One guy on line has built a functional but non firing rifle. Fans on line have made a firing U.N.C.L.E. Special and the videos can be seen on You Tube.

The new U.N.C.L.E. movie is in post production and cost $ 75 million to make. I hope it doesn't suck like all the other tv remakes we've seen ( with the exception of Bewitched, which was great for Nicole Kidman. Can't stand Will Farrell. ).

I have the T.H.R.U.S.H. id card, an identity badge edged in real gold, a belt buckle, a t shirt with the logo on it and am always looking for more items. Its fun to be the bad guy, though as a kid I wanted to be Napoleon Solo.
When we had hunts, no one wanted to be the T.H.R.U.S.H. agent, so invariably I got picked. Same thing when we would play with our Remco bazookas when Combat was on. I got to be the lone German. I got sneaky. I went out and bought 2 bazookas and had extra shells. We had big arguments as to whether or not someone had been " killed " or not. I even found toy potato masher grenades to throw. Even then I was into props.

Way back in 1970, 2 stunt men from the series, David, I and a group of others used to have " hunts " at convention hotels with REAL guns from the show where one side would try to knock out the other sides team, one being U.N.C.L.E., the other T.H.R.U.S.H. - The stuntmen taught us how to stage fake fights and we'd have John Wayne type bar brawls and fights in stairwells, elevators and the like and would go around the grounds of hotels looking for each other. The mundanes got freaked out over it and we had to stop, though we and the SF fans attending thought it was great fun. Couldn't do that today.

And I CAN do a fairly good imitation of Napoleon Solo, as he was back in the day too.
