DIY outdoor cat shelter for the feral cats that come visiting and made from waste timber. Pressure treated 2x3 from a skip and pallets. From a similar cat house design I saw In Portugal some years back, theres cats here from feral to just random cats who occasionaly get lost or need a shelter.
No actual plans as such and I had to go with the offcuts that I had. Once youve made up one side you can lay the other on top of it to make a matching pair.
Plenty of screws throughout and some waterproof glue used to add a bit of strength to the shelves and stairs.
A lot of stuff ive been scrounging/hoarding over the years came in useful, the half roll of aluminium tape, polystyrene sheets, a sheet of roofing material, including a handful of waterproof caps. Left over from other peoples work there is still some use for them in smaller projects like this.
Things I had to get were glue although im still using sample bottles from Makers Central last year Screws, again scrounged from the Shedfest event.
I used standard B&Q valspar paint on the pallet wood and gave it two coats. For the stairs and shelves I used OSMO Polyx UV hard wax oil, it bought out the colour really well and should hopefully provide a good durable finish.
