The fingers of daylight subsided over the city. The citizens were all abuzz with anticipation as they headed home to watch the event on tv. In the streets thousands lined up to get their seats in the great stadium. Overhead jets approached and balloons were being flown from all directions with spectators and news crews filming the proceedings. In a few minutes, the event of the year would be starting.
The time passed quickly & the great stadium filled.
The crowd grew anxious with anticipation and then the public address system blared with :


" Ladies and gentlemen. Boys and girls. Welcome to the first Tokyo All Trainers Pokemon Championship. Here you will see trainers from all over the globe battle to see who will become the World Pokemon Master !

In a moment we will start the competition. "

The crowd noise grew louder.

On the field the trainers stood as the flags of the individual countries were presented & the national anthem of Japan was played.
In the stands the Emperor of Japan and executives from Nintendo & Game Freak stood & the Emperor raised his hand to signal the competition could begin.
The first two trainers stepped forward, were announced & the first battle had begun.
Valiant Pokemon battled but the initial battle was ended quickly by a masterful move by the trainer from Sendai, Japan.
Then the crowd and the viewers at home saw battle after battle until only two trainers were left.
One was from Sendai and the other from the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the United States.
The initial battles went well when suddenly a Pokemon was brought forth but somehow its Pokeball escaped the pocket of the trainer from Sendai and bounced onto the field.
The crowd & the viewers went wild as nothing had ever been seen like this.
At home a Pokemon fan named Kathy watched in awe.
She loved playing Pokemon & wished she could be in the stadium for real.
She watched with rapt attention as the ball took another bounce and then took off at an angle and went into one of the screens in the broadcasting booth.
Everything stopped as no one knew just what to do next.
At home, Kathy saw the ball bounce and then suddenly a noise came out of her television with a rush.
Glass shattered and the ball came roaring out, took one bounce and the ball opened and a beam came out and hit Kathy & sucked her into the Pokeball.
The Pokeball bounced off the wall & went back into the set and in a second it was back in the stadium.
It bounced & opened up again and deposited Kathy onto the field and it took one final bounce and hit a light standard and deflected and knocked out the challenger from Pittsburgh.
The judges conferred and finally said that if they had no challenger from the United States the championship would go to Japan.
Kathy stepped up and said she would take his place and battle.
The judges nodded their heads in affirmation and after a few minutes of preparation the battle continued.
Kathy pulled out her Pokedex and took 6 of her Pokeballs attached to her belt.
In her world they were mere toys.
But here they became real and contained real Pokemon.
The two trainers began the battle.
It went on for hours as neither trainer could get an edge on the other and neither trainer had Pokemon that were quite knocked out.
Both were allowed to heal their Pokemon and the battle continued.
After 9 hours they were still battling when a great rumble was heard in and out of the stadium.
The ground shook & the stadium swayed and the people began to flee in panic.
People feared a giant earthquake and ran for their lives.
On the field the 2 trainers stood steadfast.

They knew this was no ordinary earthquake and waited.
Suddenly the ground shook one more time and a gigantic shadow covered the night sky & the stadium.
The trainers and the judges were the only ones left as the cameras had been left on automatic.
A tearing sound was heard and suddenly they saw a form in the darkness.

It tore the walls out of part of the stadium & began tearing the roof off of one of the food concessions.
The two trainers and the judges screamed and knew that they and Japan faced its greatest danger ever.
Ultra Snorelax had appeared on the scene and...
