BAT CAT RETURNS ! - BEFORE BAT CAT, THERE WAS...
One of the major reasons why Batman was created was the influence this character had on the creators.
I loved the Shadow movie.
Great Jerry Goldsmith score but it failed at the box office.
Geat cast as well and very retro and film noir.
Maybe it was marketed poorly.
I read a great deal of The Shadow stories from the pulps as a child along with Doc Savage.

According to the 2nd video below there was a rumor that Welles planned to do a Batman movie long before Tim Burton.
Sadly it proved to be a hoax.
