1960 Lincoln Continental Mark V (SOLD)

After he sold the Valiant, my Father bought one of these.
He packed us up and started to drive us across the country from Washington, DC to California.
But...it had NO air conditioning and the old route 66 was still strong and my Mother got a horrible 3rd degree sunburn and when we reached Las Vegas she said " NO MORE " and we checked into the Riviera Hotel and a doctor came up and they had her sleep on wet sheets for 4 days. She was in agony.
We didn't leave Las Vegas for 2 years. That was in 1968.
I have no idea what he did with the car but driving it in the heat was like being in a blast furnace.
I remember we got caught in a sandstorm and we stopped at a Whiting Brothers gas station in the middle of the night and the attendant refused to come out and pump gas and the sand stripped all the paint off the car and pitted all the glass.
My Father had a horrible time driving it after that as he could barely see out the windshield.

Looking to control the internet, one video at a time.
In a nice way, of course.
