Robinson Train Collision 63 Years Later

On September 5, 1956 at 3 in the morning, Santa  Fe Chief train #19 collided head on with Fast Mail Express train #8 at the siding in Robinson, NM. The collision killed 20 employees, many of which were dining car staff in the crew sleeper of the Chief, as well as the engineers of both trains. The cause was the fireman of the mail train reseting the switch at the last second which is unknown why he did that. I personally believe he was unsure if he had already done so made a last second move which ended up with 20 people losing their lives. May they rest in peace.

Sorry for the video being rather short there wasn’t a lot of info on this wreck since it was over 60 years ago. Also sorry for my low-toned voice I recorded it at like 11:30 pm and was so tired but I had to finish the video.

***I was also informed that train 19 wasn’t the Super Chief, rather just the Chief. I apologize for that mistake

Looking to control the internet, one video at a time.
In a nice way, of course.
