Theodore Bikel still going at 90.

One of my favorite actors and singers.

Bikel was the definitive Meyer and I wish they had done another Travis Mc Gee film with Rod Taylor.

The movie failed at the box office because they didn't know how to market it and it was so bloody. In the fight scene, both Taylor and William Smith got really injured as they did the scene for real and Smith broke his leg.

Somewhere in a tube around here, I have a McGee poster from the film from Australia that says :

Travis McGee. Crimefighter.

Amused the hell out of me what I saw it on Ebay.

One day I will frame it after I get Taylor ( and hopefully Bikel to autograph it though I hope I don't have to go to LA to do it ).

If you haven't read the McGee books ( or any John D. Macdonald books ) you are missing some good stuff.

DeCaprio is too young and thin to be McGee. I hope they do the movie.
