That Smokey bear ad ...

I used to watch the REAL Smokey bear when i was a kid in Washington, D.C.

He was in a concrete enclosure summer and winter, no tree to climb, no activity for him to do. He looked miserable and would just sit and not move for hours. It's how they used to house animals back then. I remember the criticism over t treatment f the living smbol of the USFS. Smokey deserved a better fate than to be put in a concrete cage. I was a big fan of him and had a Smokey bear doll with the hat, uniform and all.










The ones on the bottom are fires in previous years.

Alreay the religious and other nuts are saying this fire is a sign of the rapture ( of which there is NO such thing and never will be - check out the history of it, it's a massive falsehood ) or the apocalypse or both.
