PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Authorities are still trying to identify a woman who was suspected of killing a Marion County family’s pet rabbit.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of suspicious activity on the 5600-block of Silverton Road NE at 11 a.m. Sunday. The caller reported chasing a 30-to-40-year-old woman from their property. That resident also found one of their family’s rabbits dead, and believes the woman killed it, said the Sheriff’s Office.
The woman is described as approximately 5-foot-4-inches tall with a medium build and dark hair.
Deputies were able to find the woman in the Silverton Road area and detained her. She was taken the the Marion County Jail where she is being held on charges of animal abuse, criminal mischief, and trespass, however authorities have not yet identified the suspect.
This is a developing story.
