On July 1, 2017 two private cars, Pacific Sands & Silver Splendor, traveled on the rails of the Santa Fe Southern Railway (SFSR) from Lamy, New Mexico to the state capital of Santa Fe. This is the first time in almost 3 years that the SFSR has ran on these tracks. On July 7 the cars are being prepared for the trip back down to Lamy and then on to California. SFSR GP-16 #93 pulled the two cars down the 18-mile line and across the beautiful desert scenery of New Mexico to the small town of Lamy, New Mexico.
